NORVISION - digital dynamic signage

Banner Health needed a better way to communicate with their patients, visitors and employees and decided on Digital Dynamic Signage as the most effective solution. Important factors for Banner Health were centralized content management, ease-of-use to update information, scalable network & display architecture, reliable 24/7 playback, 5-year on-site warranty on all components, responsive 24/7 technical support with “hot-spare” replacement units, remote support & maintenance, training of personnel and professional installation services. After more than 18-months of evaluating different solutions and companies, Banner Health chose NORVISION to design, implement and manage the digital network now called the Banner Health Branding and Information Network.

NORVISION identified the lobby, elevator areas, birthing center, restaurants and doctor lounges as the areas with the most captive audiences. Large plasma screens were built into the wall on each side of the main elevator. 40-inch LCD displays were installed on the wall opposite the elevator doors at each floor. Several large LCDs were installed at the other locations and connected to the hospital's network. The content management server was installed on Banner Health's virtual server farm and a secure VPN connection set up for remote management and support. A design workstation was installed with Banner Health's marketing department and one of the main designers were trained to create the content and how to distribute it to the different locations around the country. Currently content is updated daily and the digital menu boards in the restaurants are updated daily by the chefs and restaurant managers. The system is expanding as new hospitals are being built. The system is now an integral part of Banner Health's marketing and information strategy.
